Laura Slade Wiggins (born 8 August 1988) is an American television and film actress and musician. She is best known for her role as "Karen Jackson" in the Showtime television series Shameless.
Laura Slade Wiggins was born in Athens, Georgia and started performing in local theatre productions from an early age. From the age of 16, Laura began focusing on film acting and after graduating from high school she moved to the west coast to attend college and continue her acting career.
Outside of acting, she enjoys singing and playing acoustic & bass guitar in the band Dawn Soir, and also creative writing.
As of 2011[update], she lives in Los Angeles.
Wiggins made her television debut in 2006 in the TV movie Not Like Everyone Else, and was in the television movie Girl Positive.
She has also appeared in the productions Dance of the Dead, Eleventh Hour, and in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation titled "World's End". Wiggins played a pregnant teenager in the an episode of the fourth season of Private Practice called "The Hardest Part" which aired on 31 March 2011. She is also a recurring character on the U.S. television show Shameless on Showtime.
She is set to appear in the 2011 comedy film "Hit List".
